Working Together to Build a Strong Community

The Worthington Hooker PTA is a member of the Connecticut and national PTA associations, which provide benefits such as 501(c)3 non-profit status and insurance for official Worthington Hooker PTA events and programs. When you join your Worthington Hooker Parent Teacher Association, you are making a difference in the education of your children and all the kids at Worthington Hooker Elementary School. Membership adds your voice to the tens of thousands across Connecticut and millions across the United States advocating for children. Individual membership is $10.00 per person and held on an annual basis from the start of the school year until the end of summer. Registered members are eligible to discuss and vote on key decisions, including budgeting, funding requests, PTA programs and elections. Beyond registering as PTA member, you can choose to invest as much time as you wish with PTA activities. PTA programs and events are parent created and led by parent volunteers. The PTA has an annual budget of approximately $200,000. The PTA supports many aspects of school that our children love and need, including:

  • Field trips

  • Academic support and enrichment programs

  • Afterschool program

  • After school spanish and mandarin language programs

  • Garden projects at both schools

  • Social events for our community

  • School supplies for teachers

  • Arts and Drama

  • School HOTS membership

  • Revels

  • 8th grade musical

  • Over 80% of the cost of the art teacher’s supplies

PTA meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month from September to June. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are meeting on Zoom. Sign up for our mailing list to receive the links for our meetings. If you cannot attend meetings regularly, you can still be involved by volunteering your time.
